About Me

I am a second-year educator who teaches second grade in rural Maine. This blog will feature posts about my experiences developing and implementing curriculum, cultivating a classroom community, and using contextualized thematic units to encourage my young students to use higher-order thinking skills to expand their knowledge of the world around them.

I majored in English and education at Colby College and then completed my Ed. M. in language and literacy at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I am passionate about literacy, authentic learning experiences, and social justice.

  1. I admire your goals. May you be ever true to them, and may they give you as much reward as you give your students.
Best wishes for a fulfilling and successful career.
