I am a fifth-year educator who teaches in rural Maine.
I taught second grade for four years at a very small school. This year, I am moving into a new position where I will serve as the STEM teacher for all of the students in my school, from grades Pre-K to 8.
This blog will feature posts about my experiences developing and implementing curriculum, cultivating a classroom community, and efforts to push my students to use higher-order thinking skills to expand their knowledge of the world around them.
I majored in English and education at Colby College and then completed my Ed. M. in language and literacy at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I am passionate about authentic learning experiences, thematic instruction, and social justice.
I admire your goals. May you be ever true to them, and may they give you as much reward as you give your students.
Best wishes for a fulfilling and successful career.

Thanks Norah! How kind of you. I will plan to complete the questions that you asked at some point this week. I’m flattered!
I look forward to your responses!
